PROGRAM BEING OFFERED

Expedition Mars

Simulated Space Mission

It is the year 2076. Humans have established a permanent settlement on the Martian moon Phobos. Daily, space shuttles travel to the Martian surface carrying scientists and engineers who are exploring the surface in search for signs of ancient life. The discovery of frozen surface water has allowed scientists to break down hydrogen and oxygen to assist in the creation of liquid fuel. With the possibility of a near asteroid collision, teams will need to remain on high alert and handle any repercussions that come along with an impact!

Big Astronomy:
People, Places, Discoveries

Full-Dome Planetarium Film

In the most remote locations on the planet, people are working to uncover mysteries throughout the universe... and most are not astronomers. In the words of Associated Universities Inc. President, Adam Cohen, Big Astronomy demonstrates how it takes a “STEM village” to explore the cosmos. The film’s goal is to advance the public’s awareness of the diverse people and careers it takes to make big science possible today.

Careers featured: electrical and mechanical engineers, technicians, data analysts, machinists, heavy equipment operators, maintenance personnel, and artists

Big Astronomy will be complemented by hands-on activities to learn about the James Webb Space Telescope.
