What is the cost of the programs?

The cost for the Challenger Program is $400; the cost for the Planetarium Program is $200. The cost for both programs is $525.

Programs that begin at or after 4:00 pm weekdays, and weekend programs:

Mission and Planetarium Program: $750
Planetarium Only: $300
Mission Only: $500

What is the maximum amount of students you can accommodate a day?

The maximum amount of students per day is 72

What is the minimum amount of students needed to run a mission?

The minimum amount needed for a full mission is 22

The minimum amount needed for a mini mission is 8

How long are the missions?

Missions generally run about 2 hours

How long is a planetarium show for school groups?

Planetarium shows run about 1.5 hours

What does a typical day look like at the McAuliffe Center?

A typical day at the Center with two programs:

Mission First Group

9:00 – 11:00 Mission
Mission Lunch 11:00 – 12:15
12:15 – 1:30 Planetarium

Planetarium First Group

9:00 – 10:15 Planetarium
Planetarium Lunch 10:15 – 11:15
11:30 – 1:30 Mission


What if we need to alter the times to accommodate our school?

We are very happy to adjust times to accommodate your school’s schedule; we just ask that you inform us at the time you book your visit.

Can we bring our school for just a planetarium show?

Can I book the planetarium or Challenger Learning Center for birthday parties, weddings, etc?

In order to serve our mission as an institution for science learning, we cannot accommodate requests for birthday parties or weddings.
